The Ciśniańsko-Wetliński Landscape Park

The Ciśniańsko-Wetliński Landscape Park is established in 1992, it covers an area of 51 461 ha and forestation of 83%. It is located west of Bieszczady National Park and the San Valley Landscape Park. Together with them, creates the "Eastern Carpathians" International Biosphere Reserve. The park is located in the following communes: Cisna, Komańcza, Baligród, Solina, Zagórz and Czarna. Grate course of mountain ridges and a lattice system of river valleys characterize the area of Park. The highest peaks exceed 1,200 m. The main European water division runs along the entire length of the border band, separating the catchment areas of the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea. The Park area is located in the San River basin. The Park is forested in 83%, mainly by beech, fir, sycamore and spruce. Uncommon communities include the mountain sycamore complex, the swamp alder complex and the transitional peat bog in Kalnica with the unique black alder site in the Bieszczady Mountains. In the Park we can meet all the largest predators such as brown bear, wolf, lynx and wildcat. Especially precious fragments of the Park are protected by 7 nature reserves.
