Stakčín

The local cemetery is a military cemetery from World War I. There are 959 soldiers in 541 individual graves and 14 tombs. Every grave is marked with a cross. A bigger number of people buried in this cemetery is explained by the fact that after the departure of the Russians in late November 1914, a military hospital was established in the indoor of steam sawmill facility. In the spring of 1915, the village was hit by a cholera epidemic, which resulted in death of many wounded soldiers in hospital. In the village there are also monuments of fighting in the World War II. In the centre of the village by the road there is a T34 tank. Behind it there is English park with a castle dating back to the second half of the 18th century.
